Adopt- A- Spot
Welcome to the Adopt-A-Spot program. This initiative was designed to empower our community members to take an active role in beautifying and maintaining our public areas. By adopting a spot that holds personal significance, volunteers can help enhance the environment for everyone. From traffic islands to parks, all public spaces are available for adoption, making it easy for you to contribute to the community you love.
5 Easy Steps to begin Adopt-A-Spot
1. Decide on the location.
2. Complete the application below.
3. Sign the release waiver.
4. Complete the post-cleanup report.
5. Share your results with others to promote Adopt- A- Spot.
Participants in the Adopt-A-Spot Program must actively maintain their adopted location and submit Post Clean Up Forms documenting each maintenance activity. After six (6) months of successful maintenance, participants will become eligible for recognition. Successful maintenance includes keeping the area clean, free of litter, and properly maintained, as well as regular submission of completed Post Clean Up Forms following each cleanup. At the conclusion of the six-month period, a recognition plaque or sign may be issued once the Town has verified that the area has been properly maintained, and the required Post Clean Up Forms have been submitted. If the adopted location is not properly maintained or if Post Clean Up Forms are not submitted, the Town may determine that the location is inactive. Inactive locations may be released and made available for adoption by other individuals, groups, or organizations.
